roman people settled in spain and portugal mostly and a little in france comment

Roman settlers in Gaul arose from Tuscany.This explain the similarities between Italian and French languages.Italian like you said is a tuscan dialect.

Off-course,these Roman colonizers weren't not so numerous in Gaul as it was the case in the Iberian peninsula who was much more filled with them.

Although,I think that French and Romanians have their own identity and ethnic background,at the difference of Italians,Spaniards and Portuguese people.
